Year 5/6 Newsletter

Dear parents/carers,

This term, our topic is based around the book 'Ice Trap'. During the term, we will be exploring the details of the expedition by writing a newspaper report to informer readers about the expedition, a letter home about the explorers' thoughts and feelings, and a dialogue between the characters once rescued.

In maths, we will focus on fractions and percentages so that we can order, add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions as well as find percentages of amounts.

Through our topic, children will explore the details of the expedition, focusing on living conditions, what happened, and how they were rescued.

Please remember that our value this term is bravery, so we encourage you to talk to your child about what bravery is and how they can act in courageous ways.

Thank you,

Miss Rushen, Mrs Hall, Mrs Dyer, and Mrs Maher
