Proud to Be Part of the Mountford Manor School Community

Proud to Be Part of the Mountford Manor School Community

As 2020 gets underway, I’m delighted to be starting my first term as the interim principal of Mountford Manor Primary School. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to our school’s wonderful community.

Over the coming weeks, I will be writing a series of blog posts outlining my vision for the school and the path to making Mountford Manor Primary School the finest in the area. But first, I would like to tell you a bit more about myself.

Before joining Mountford Manor Primary School, I was the learning and development manager at The White Horse Federation where my responsibilities included leading teacher training and leadership development. Prior to joining the federation’s central staff, I was the assistant principal at Drove Primary School.

Having been successful in roles at both school and trust level, and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the process, I wanted to take the next step and become a principal.

Leading Mountford Manor Primary School was an opportunity I simply couldn’t turn down. I am excited to bring my expertise to the role and put it into practise at such an exceptional school.

On a personal level, I have two daughters; one of primary school age and one of secondary school age; as well as a cockapoo puppy called Winnie who is keeping me very busy at the moment. In my spare time, I am interested in a range of sports, including football, rugby, and cricket, and enjoy going to the gym and running.

As I previously mentioned, you can expect to see a series of blogs published on the school website over the coming weeks. Some of the topics will include:

  • Building on Our School’s Core Values
  • Believing in Values-based Education
  • Nurturing and Further Enhancing Our Staff
  • Engaging the Community to Continue Our Progress

The publication of these blogs is the beginning of our school’s increased focus on improving communication with our community. This will primarily be done through our school website and our social media accounts. So, if you don’t already, please take this opportunity to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Rachel Skates for making my transition a smooth process and congratulate her on a great job as principal. I’m excited to build on the excellent progress the school made during Rachel’s time in charge.

As I begin my headship, I will be doing a lot to learn more about Mountford Manor Primary School, our pupils, their families, and the community so that I can steer the school in the right direction. This began with a series of coffee mornings and will continue as I strive to work with parents and members of the school community.

If you have any questions or queries, I would love to hear them, so please contact the school on 01793 536494.

I look forward to meeting you all.
